Quiz 22nd Oct – Great success and thanks
Our fundraiser Quiz was a great success. We had 9 teams on the night and raised £442.10! (Food costs to come in).
Many thanks to all who attended and a special mention and thanks to:
Paula, Gill and Sally for organising and preparing the ploughman’s supper and nibbles
Steve for donating the pork pie
Clare for donating the winners and booby prizes
Everyone who donated a raffle prize
Steph for her cash donation (she was not able to attend due to her own fundraiser event that night for the Nepal Appeal

Fundraising Quiz – 7:30pm Friday 21st Oct 2016 – Cleeton St Mary VH
Don’t forget our quiz this Friday!
We need to get as many people to attend as possible (particularly all local riders). This is our main fund raiser this year. We urgently need to generate funds to continue our work.
Meeting Notes 4th Oct and Quiz Arrangements

Visit By Tim Simmons Council Byway Officer
Steve, John and Chris and a successful meeting with Tim. Our priority projects were discussed and Tim offered that the council will be able to provide drainage stone as required. He also mentioned that he could provide a digger to do some of the work after October. A separate report will be created listing actions from this meeting.
Quiz
Clare has had some posters created (by Clare at Cleobury Country) and these were distributed. Clare will contact SSRC to get a listing on their Facebook page. Posters need to be put up at suitable locations in the area.

The meeting originally planned for Tuesday 20th Sep has been postponed to Tuesday 4th October 7:30pm, venue Well Farm.
Key topics will be arrangements for the fund raiser Quiz to be held at Cleeton St Mary Village Hall on Friday 21st October and feedback from the recent (and successful) meeting with Tim Simmons (Council Byways Officer).

Farlow Fete Success, Byways Officer Visit
We had a stand at Farlow School Fete on Saturday (10th Sept) to promote the work we are doing in the area. We had lots of interest and some new members sign up. We also used this as an opportunity to promote our fund raiser Quiz to be held on Friday 21st October. Please note this date in your diaries.
Our fun competition to guess the number of miles of public rights of way in Farlow Parish was a great success. We had over 50 entries, thanks to all who had a go. The target was 15.2 miles and the winner on 15 miles was Arthur Ratcliff, a very close second was Ray Bentley on 15.5.
Many thanks to Bakers Of Tower Street, a top quality independent Cafe in Ludlow, for providing a generous voucher as a prize. www.bakersoftowerstreet.co.uk .
Thanks to Clare, Yvonne, Chris, Jo for setting up and running the stand and to Paula for organising the prize.
Finally we are hoping for a visit by Tim Simmons, council Byways Officer, either 14th or 15th September to look at our priority projects and hopefully provide some help to get these sorted.
Escorted Pleasure Ride – 3rd September
We are running a fund raising escorted ride on Saturday 3rd September. Start 10.30am from the New Inn, Oreton.
Mainly walk, trot to suit most levels of riding.
Approx 3 hrs or shorter route approx 2 hrs.
Anyone taking part does so at their own risk.
Cost £10.
(Proceeds towards purchase of materials and hire of equipment for bridleway improvement projects in our area)

In spite of emails and phone calls we have still not had response with a date for a visit.
ACTION: Chris to resend email sent listing projects to discuss at visit and copy to Richard Knight and to outdoor.recreation email address and request a response.
Projects
Route R – Tittford Bridge – Access field has now been seeded so will need to leave this until next year.
Route G – Crammer Gutter (across top of field)
ACTION: Chris to chase Carl Pickup for a document outlining recommendations for drainage to keep water flowing onto the field.
Hill Houses to The Firs – A workparty has done some clearance work on this. Also need to look at the route onto the common which could do with some clearance.
Gate on Route Q Gordon Poyners field. This was improved but needs looking at again as is difficut to open/close

Lost Ways
Gill has “loaned us” Restoring Rights Of Way book produced by the BHS.
ACTION: Sally to review this and present back a summary of what we need to do at next meeting

Farlow School Fete Sat 10th Sept
Clare has paid for our stand (thanks to Clare)
Competition to guess miles of bridleway and footpaths in Farlow Parish from a large scale map. 50p per go. Prize -Lunch voucher for 2 at Bakers of Tower Street, Ludlow

Quiz Fundraiser
Aim to hold a quiz in October, use Cleeton VH for a change. Committee members to each do a round. Provide a ploughman’s or similar. Aim to promote this at fete.
