Our fund raising table top sale held on 17th Nov was a great success. We had 20 tables and lots of bargains were to be had (I came away with 2 stable rugs, a pair of gloves, a dressage numnah, a lead rope and a head collar at a fraction of the new price).
Many thanks to everyone who had tables, provided cakes, provided raffle prizes and all the volunteer helpers on the night setting up the hall, running the raffle, setting up our display, manning the entrance and serving the teas and cakes.
We raised over £300 which will ALL go directly on materials and equipment hire to help us maintain the bridleways.
Couple of pictures below plus a reminder of what our small group has achieved.

Other Business
Clare to discuss with John costings for work on routes in various parishes and write to them for funding.
Chris has approached Hopton Wafers Parish Council and they are happy to provide funds to work on routes in Parish (Nunnery Lane). We need to put costings together and submit these. Chris to organise.
Wheathill Bridleway Group – Tina Ranson was hoping to attend the meeting but had to send her apologies. Chris to email her to see if she can come to the Sale. We can then discuss plans for routes on boarder of the areas.
Dangerous catch on gate on route Q – from New bridge to Catherton. May be awkward to fix in situ. Would be easier to fit a new gate with safe catch.
John to contact Council to ask for a 4′ gate and also tall way marker posts (need 1 for route F at Upper Marshes which has been snapped and removed by timber extractors).
Reminder we were going to have a meeting on Tue 10th Nov 7:30pm at Clare’s to finalise arrangements for the Equine Table Top Fundraiser.
Hello all. We need everyone to do their bit to help promote our Table Top Sale fund Raiser. We have had some table bookings but we need to get enough tables booked and people to come along to make it worthwhile.
Please tell everyone you know that is horsey and put the poster up wherever you can and if you use Facebook etc. make sure you mention it.
Louise, can we get a mention on the SSRC website and Facebook site? Is anyone going to the SSRC AGM tonight. If so can they make sure it is mentioned and take a poster.
Also local Pony Clubs and Hunts need to be informed. Can someone make sure this is done. Thanks.
We are holding an Equine Table Top Sale (see poster below). This will be a fund raising event to help us with work maintaining our local bridleways. A pdf file is available to downland and print to display on any suitable notice boards etc.
Please publicise and support this event.

A work party cleared a section of the route. The main purpose is to provide access for a dumper to lay the stone over exposed tree roots.
Steve and John hope to move the stone (16 tonnes provided by the Council) from next to Stepple Hall and spread it on Thursday 1st October. Please contact Steve or John if you are able to help.
